We haven’t seen the last of The Last Of Us. Naughty Dog is releasing the much anticipated The Last Of Us Part 2 on May 29, 2020, and now the beloved post apocalyptic horror/action video game receiving a small screen adaptation. According to The Hollywood ReporterThe Last Of Us will be an HBO series spearheaded by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin. Both Mazin and executive producer Neil Druckmann, The Last Of Us video game’s creative director, will pen the script.

Sony additionally teased that more adaptations of popular video games are on the way. “This is the first of many shows we intend to develop with our friends at PlayStation Productions,” said Chris Parnell, co-president of Sony Pictures Television Studios (via The Hollywood Reporter). “The Last of Us is a brilliant achievement in storytelling and character development, and we are lucky to have the opportunity to work with this team to adapt it.”

I’m looking forward a The Last Of Us TV show, but it’ll likely be awhile before there is any more meaningful news on it. Let’s hope that The Last Of Us Part 2 will hold us over until then.
