PlayStation fans won’t have to wait too long to play The Last Of Us Part 2 or Ghost Of Tsushima afterall. While the release of many projects currently in production were up in the air due to COVID-19, Sony has confirmed that we can expect Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part 2 and Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost Of Tsushima, 2 highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusives, this Summer. On PlayStation.Blog, Sony’s Head of Worldwide Studios Hermen Hulst announced that The Last Of Us Part 2 will release on June 19, 2020 and Ghost Of Tsushima will launch on July 17, 2020.
Hulst further congratulated Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions for being able to complete their respective games during this unprecedented coronavirus epidemic. “I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances,” Hulst said via PlayStation.Blog. “Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months.”
This is the best possible news given the recent circumstances. The new release dates are sooner than I would’ve anticipated, and I, like many of you, can’t wait to fully dive into these games. Here’s to hoping we’ll hear about more new release dates for movies and games postponed by COVID-19 in the future.
